Call to Order &Roll Call – President Matt Portrey called the Regular Meeting to Order at 6:00 p.m. Upon roll call the following Board of Education (BOE) members responded as being present: Matt Portrey, Kellie Stewart and Tony Winton. Elizabeth Richardson and John Zak were absent.

Approval of Agenda – K Stewart made a motion to approve the agenda with modification. T Winton seconded the motion. All voted “aye”. Motion Carried

6C. Legislative Update – Revisions to attendance and truancy policies are being made in accordance with district attorney recommendations to comply with new legislation.

6E. GRC Campus Closing Update – Dr. Embray provided an update on the GRC Campus closing.
Dr. Embray also provided an update on the new building. RFQ requests will be opened on June 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. RFP requests will be sent to selected qualified contractors and a CMR contract with the selected vendor will be approved and executed at the July 22, 2024, Special Meeting.

9A. Approval of Food Service Agreement with Kids Place Daycare
K Stewart made a motion to approve the Food Service agreement for the 2024-2025 school year with Kids Place Daycare &GCSD Food Service. T Winton seconded the motion. All voted “aye”. Motion carried.
9B. Approval of Dishwasher Bid
T Winton made a motion to approve the low bid from Buller Fixture to purchase a new dishwasher for the Northeast Elementary building. K Stewart seconded the motion. Motion carried.
9C. Approval to Pay Bills through June 30, 2024
K Stewart made a motion for approval to pay bills received after the board meeting through June 30, 2024, to close out our FY24 fiscal year. T Winton seconded the motion. All voted “aye”. Motion carried.
9D. Approval of Administrator Stipends
K Stewart made a motion for approval of the stipends for administrators for district assignments &responsibilities. T Winton seconded the motion. All voted “aye”. Motion carried.
9E. Approval of Iowa Association of School Boards Renewal
K Stewart made a motion for approval to renew the district’s membership with IASB for the 2024-2025 school year. T Winton seconded the motion. All voted “aye”. Motion carried
9F. Approval of Iowa School Finance Information Services Renewal
K Stewart made a motion for approval to renew the district’s membership with ISFIS for the 2024-2025 school year. T Winton seconded the motion. All voted “aye”. Motion carried.
9G. Approval to Open a Custodial Bank Account
K Stewart made a motion for approval to open a Custodial Bank account for Kids Place Child Care Champions to hold funds received for grants and other fundraising items. Authorized signers for the account will be the Board of Education President and Chief Financial Officer of the Glenwood Community School District. T Winton seconded the motion. All voted “aye”. Motion carried.
9H. Discussion Regarding the Number of Signatures required for GO Bond Referendum
Discussion was held concerning the determination of the number of signatures over the 392 required in order to move forward with the proposed GO Bond resolution to place the Northeast, West and Middle School facility renovation project(s) on the November 5, 2024, ballot. K Stewart made a motion to set a goal of obtaining 600 signatures. T Winton seconded the motion. All voted “aye”. Motion carried.
